CMP Awarded Solectron Supplier Award

CMP is the Only Mechanical Supplier to Receive Recognition for Outstanding Performance from Solectron

Creedmoor, North Carolina – Paul Reiff, Global Supply Base Manager at Solectron, presented Solectron’s highest honor for supplier performance in 2006-2007 to CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions. CMP was one of six suppliers in Solectron’s global supply chain recognized for excellent support and outstanding performance, and the only mechanical supplier to achieve such an honor..

Mr. Reiff was joined by Ron Johnson, Americas Supply Base Manager – Enclosures and the executive team of the Solectron - Creedmoor site led by John Mainey, General Manager at Solectron – Creedmoor.


In presenting the award to CMP's President, Ralph Sandle jr., Mr. Reiff commented that CMP had excelled in three key areas in support of Solectron:

  1. Cost Reduction
  2. Service
  3. Responsiveness

CMP's lean manufacturing operations and demand pull systems helped Solectron achieve record inventory turns over the last year as a result of CMP’s support on several programs in the Self Service Kiosk and Communications markets.  John Mainey credited CMP with putting "Creedmoor operations back on the map" within Solectron.

Solectron has been able to successfully leverage its accomplishments in the Self Service Kiosk market to win additional opportunities with other influential market leaders.  

In a memo congratulating CMP for their contribution to Solectron’s success, John Caltabiano, Global Director of Sourcing and Logistics at Solectron, praised CMP for its commitment to developing and sustaining a long term business relationship with Solectron.  He attributed the mutual success to the collective efforts of the two companies based on the utilization of Lean principles and disciplines. 

Mr. Caltabiano went on to note that the Solectron / CMP business relationship “withstood the many twists and turns in our business” and that “this should give us confidence in our ability to continue this relationship in a positive manner as we become a new company (Flextronics)”.
