CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions Announces Opening of US Operations

CMP USA supports regional manufacturing strategy focused on North America.

April 4, 2005 - CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions, a market leader in providing complete enclosure solutions including product design, engineering, manufacturing and electro-mechanical integration services, announced the opening today of its newest manufacturing operation, CMP USA, in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

"This is a milestone for CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions", stated Steve Zimmermann, President of CMP. "Establishing an enclosure manufacturing presence in the United States directly supports our regional manufacturing strategy of delivering high quality, cost effective enclosure solutions for our Customers throughout North America".

Mr. Zimmerman continued, "The establishment of CMP USA, coupled with future expansion plans for a CMP Mexico operation, will allow CMP to deliver blended manufacturing solutions that leverage regional, economic, and logistic variables against plant specific capabilities, to deliver a compelling supply chain proposition for our North American Customers."

CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions' regional manufacturing strategy is focused on Customers in the North American market, and leverages the geographic scale of multiple, strategically located CMP facilities, to deliver cost effective, blended manufacturing solutions. "We believe that blended solutions which leverage regional supply, regional economics, and logistic variables, provide an extremely cost effective and responsive source of supply", commented Mr. Zimmerman.

The US operations will be led by Ralph Sandle, Jr., President of CMP USA, and is located in Creedmoor, North Carolina, approximately 25 miles north of the state capital, Raleigh. The manufacturing operation is located on a 26 acre site, in a modern 150,000 square foot facility. Core capabilities include metal fabrication, steel and aluminum welding, automated finishing and assembly systems.
