Creedmoor, North Carolina – CMP is investing approximately $3.2 Million of advanced manufacturing equipment in its North Carolina facility (CMP–NC). The technology upgrade includes highly automated fabrication machines and robotics to achieve superior automation and true “lights-out” operations.
The update is being mirrored after CMP’s Quebec facility that already possesses automated manufacturing cells and robotics. Once the process is completed, CMP-NC will possess fully automated punching capability, robotic welding and improved operations in forming. The process has been underway since late 2007. |
“We are very excited about this upgrade,” says Kevin Phillips, General Manager of CMP’s North Carolina operations. “This equipment will not only improve our overall operations but increase our throughput and flexibility so that we can better serve our customers. The upgrade will help us to achieve the fullest potential and maximum capacity of the Creedmoor facility.”
The upgrade is scheduled to be completed by early March and is going smoothly.
CMP–NC was the first of CMP’s U.S. facilities opened back in late 2004. It is a 160,000 square ft. facility specializing in large form factor electro-mechanical products. Its capabilities include complete sheet metal fabrication including welding, painting and mechanical assembly and operates Just-In-Time demand / pull production. |
