CMP’S new name signals strategic ambitions of growing total enclosure solutions provider2003 revenues exceed $80 million for design and manufacturing services to global customers in key marketsChateauguay, Quebec; February 23, 2004 – CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions today announced a name change from CMP Metal Products, effective immediately. The company has also launched a new Web site – www.cmpdifference.com. These changes are a result of CMP’s strategic decision to create a single image for its design and manufacturing capabilities that reflects its delivery of total enclosure solutions to global customers in key growth markets. “Our customers are increasingly seeking out enclosure partners that have the ability to offer a total solution, rather than a number of different suppliers,” said CMP President Steve Zimmermann. “We respond to this need by seeing things differently than other manufacturers. We believe that by offering a total enclosure solution – from conceptual design to full electro-mechanical assembly of the final product – we significantly reduce costs and improve time to market for our customers.” CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions completed 2003 with revenues of $80 million Canadian, a 33 percent growth over 2002, despite continued adverse market conditions. The company of 400 will continue to focus on the core markets for which it has designed and manufactured advanced enclosures – including computing and telecommunications, medical equipment, and self-service kiosk/ATMs. It is also developing activities in the emerging security and storage markets. “Despite the difficult market conditions facing the manufacturing industry, we are pleased and encouraged with CMP’s year-over-year growth and substantial customer roster,” said Vice President of Finance John Zimmermann. “These successes are a credit to the strength of our team who consistently deliver on our commitment to quality and strategic thinking for our customers. In addition to expanding our offerings in our core markets, we are excited to build our portfolio in emerging growth markets such as storage and security.” Originally founded as a metals products company, CMP believes its name change to be an important reflection of its broadened service offerings. For calendar year 2004 CMP is projecting revenues of $110 million, marking another 33 percent growth target. The company serves a large customer base with several state-of-the-art facilities, including two plants totalling 200,000 square feet of manufacturing and assembly in Chateauguay Quebec, and additional manufacturing and design centres in Ottawa Ontario. “We’re looking forward to the year ahead because we are beginning to be recognized for our world-class technology and approach,” commented Steve Zimmermann. Over the past year we have been awarded several new projects from US based multinationals, amongst global competition. In addition we are seeing increased demand from our current clients as the market starts to rebound. With our new brand and strategic direction, we are well positioned to capitalize on these opportunities.” About CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions ### Editor Contact: CMP Contact: |
